A “Friendship Cities” relationship between San Diego and the city of Porto, Portugal, was established in May 2023. These two cities share several outstanding affinities, with great opportunity for joint development.

We seek to expand cultural awareness, develop new business opportunities in multiple fields, create student interactions, and enhance university partnerships.

Such a relationship is already supported by the sizable Portuguese and Luso-American community in San Diego, and our goal is to expand on this interest and support both in the community and outside of it.
